Hello, my name’s Ariana and I’m a self-confessed highlighter addict.
Highlighters make me think of everything warm, and good – and sparkly (the best part). I mean really, they’re one of the best beauty products invented. Who doesn’t want a glow from within? Or just an extremely obnoxious strobed-out face? Me! Me!
I wear highlighter every single day, so I feel pretty confident in saying I know what’s up when it comes to the best products on the market in this makeup area. Here are some top notch, can’t live without face wonders to give you that perfect, illuminated finish you see all over Instagram.
Laura Mercier @ David Jones Face Illuminator, $50. Shimmering waves of beauty and gold, this compact is so gorgeous I found it hard to use it for fear of ruining that amazing pattern! Laura Mercier products never fail to disappoint, and this gold-hued highlighter gives the perfect ethereal glow.
BECCA @ Sephora Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, $60 BECCA offers several shades in this powder highlighter – Pearl, Moonstone, Opal, Rose Gold, Topaz, and the cream-version cult fave Jaclyn Hill collab, Champagne Pop. The pigmentation is beautiful, with just the right amount of shimmer to have you glowing without looking glittery. The formula offers “multi-toned pigmented pearls” that adjust to your skin, with “liquid hydrators” bringing light to your skin. Yes, BECCA, talk nerdy to me.
Hourglass @ Mecca Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder $57. This is my go-to highlighter for photos – it’s subtle but really comes out in pics. This is probably the sheerest highlighter of the bunch, which means it’s great for newbies and also amazing for layering. Also – while it’s not a contour powder, it works to sculpt while highlighting!
